History

For 40 years, young representatives from fairs across Ontario have competed to become the Ambassador of the Fairs. This year-long title takes the winner across Ontario as a representative of the CNE and all agricultural fairs.

Since its inception in 1971, more than 1300 young people from 100 communities throughout the province, have taken part in this illustrious contest. This year the event takes place at the CNE from August 19th to August 21st, with the winner being crowned the Sunday afternoon (August 21st) in the Queen Elizabeth Theatre.

More than 70 contestants, aged 18 to 25, will showcase their knowledge of Ontario agriculture at the CNE Competition. They will be judged on poise, self-confidence and prepared speeches. As Ambassador of the Fairs, the winning competitor participates in a series of official duties during the 18 day run of Canada's largest fair, while at the same time representing their individual fair and community.
